About FanmiRise

Built from one immigrant family’s experience navigating America, protecting one another, and creating financial stability together.

Sophia’s story

Sophia is a mother of three, an immigrant from Haiti, and now a U.S. citizen. She had to learn how to navigate the U.S. immigration process for herself, then help members of her family navigate it too. That experience showed her how difficult it can be to find trustworthy information, understand your rights, and know where to turn without being taken advantage of.

She created FanmiRise so immigrant families can find clear, practical guidance in a language they understand — without shame, fear, or unnecessary questions about their immigration status.

What her community taught her about saving

Sophia grew up around a community savings tradition: families contributed to a shared pot, and each year one family received the pooled money. For families who were often overlooked by traditional banks, it was a way to save with discipline, trust one another, and make a larger goal possible.

That tradition shaped a central belief behind FanmiRise: financial stability is not only about individual wealth. It is about families and communities creating security together, understanding how money works, and having dependable options before an emergency happens.

Rights, stability, and protection

FanmiRise helps immigrant and working families understand their rights, find legitimate immigration resources, build savings, and strengthen their financial foundation.

Insurance is an important part of that foundation, especially life insurance. When people depend on your income or care, the right coverage can help protect the future they are working so hard to build. FanmiRise explains that protection in plain language and connects families only with properly licensed professionals when they choose to ask for help.

Who we serve

Immigrant, first-generation and working families. People building a future — not people we are rescuing. Our job is to make the U.S. financial system understandable and to give every family a fair set of tools.

Where we are today

We are in our first phase: education, the Checkup, and early-access lists. We do not yet make loans, sell insurance, or hold deposits. When those services launch, this page and our disclosures will say exactly who provides them.
