Insurance you can actually understand

Insurance is the part of a safety net that pays when something bad happens. We explain what each kind does, what it does not do, and who provides it — so you can decide calmly, with a licensed professional, and never under pressure.

Affordable insurance protection.

Term life insurance

What it does
Pays a chosen amount (for example $250,000) to the people you name if you pass away during the term (often 10, 20 or 30 years).
What it does not do
Does not build cash value, and coverage ends when the term ends unless renewed or converted.
Why families consider it
Families with children, a mortgage, or relatives who depend on their income. Many carriers accept an ITIN.
Who provides it
Licensed life insurance carriers, sold through licensed agents.

Accident protection

What it does
Pays cash benefits for covered injuries — fractures, ER visits, hospital stays after an accident — directly to you.
What it does not do
Does not cover illness, and does not replace health insurance.
Why families consider it
People with physically active jobs, or families without much emergency savings.
Who provides it
Supplemental insurance carriers, through licensed agents or employer benefits.

Hospital-indemnity coverage

What it does
Pays a fixed amount for each covered day in the hospital, regardless of the actual bill.
What it does not do
Does not pay doctors or hospitals directly and is not health insurance.
Why families consider it
Families with high-deductible health plans or unpredictable hours.
Who provides it
Supplemental insurance carriers, through licensed agents or employer benefits.

Critical-illness coverage

What it does
Pays a lump sum after diagnosis of a covered serious illness, such as a heart attack, stroke, or certain cancers.
What it does not do
Does not cover every illness; covered conditions are listed in the policy.
Why families consider it
People who want cash to cover lost income and travel during a serious illness.
Who provides it
Supplemental insurance carriers, through licensed agents.

Important: FanmiRise is not an insurance company and does not sell insurance. Product availability, eligibility, underwriting, premiums, exclusions and coverage depend on the carrier, your state, and a licensed insurance professional. Any premium examples are illustrations, not quotes.
